4th Year Thesis Film

Firebird is a 2D rigged short film created at Sheridan College as part of the Bachelor of Animation’s 4th year thesis project. It was written, designed, directed, and produced by me. Below is a sample of the design work and story development I have done for the short film.

Firebird is a reinterpretation of a scene from the Russian fairy tale “Tsarevitch Ivan, the Firebird and the Gray Wolf” set to classical composer Modest Mussorgsky’s “The Hut on Fowl’s Legs ‘Baba Yaga'” from Pictures at an Exhibition, in which Prince Ivan attempts to stop a devious firebird from devouring a beautiful garden’s prize golden apples.
